Another carseat question
Okay, I was lucky to find a 996 turbo owner who didn't need the Porsche child seat and got it for a decent price. My question (did search first) is, how do I use the tether strap? On my other cars the tether attaches to an anchor behind the seat. My 2002 C4S doesn't seem to have one in the back seat. It looks like it would have one behind the subwoofer for the stock Bose system and even has cuts in the carpeting, but I have not been able to find the anchors. Please help me out.

While a father, and somewhat concerned , I view the latch Tether as an extra. If you had a car built before about 2002(?) in most cases it wouldn't have a tether anchor either. And think of all those people only using the seatbelt to hold in the child seat . Whle not a direct answer to your question, I think it would be fine to use the seat without the tether. If someone has the PET, you should be able to locate if one is available. You might also call a local dealer and inquire about it.

I ran my finger under the the cut carpet part and felt a small are where it seems a tether anchor should be, but none was there. Are you referring to the slot on the sub or the cut carpet after that?

Here are some pics of the carpet cut out and anchor underneath. The carpet should be pre-cut, but there are 3 (if I remember right) small spots that you'll have to cut through - one per side. Hope this helps.
By the way, the car seat will fit much better if you remove the bottom and back pads from your car.
