Post For those with flared rockers....

Would you do it again?

I mean, I've seen a number of posts and heard from others who have noticed the damage caused by road silt flying off the tires (naturally) onto the leading corner of the rockers.

I've also noticed some other makes with flared rockers where the corner is cut strong enough for a flat spot at the leading edge, so that any debris coming off the road hits that, which I think was painted black like the inside wheel well.

I'm considering replacing my '99 with a new '03, and flared rockers were something I was interested in. But if it's a maintenance issue, or worse, I would opt out.

Any thoughts from those who have had rockers?

Thanks!

They definately look much better and the problem with road grime is not that bad. Yes they do pick up a few chips but it is definatlely worth it. If they were not there the sheet metal of the car would be picking up the chips. If it really botheres you these are replaceablem. IMHO they are a must.

Flared rockers make the car. I think all Porsches shoulf have them as standard issue. Maintenance is not an issue. I get more junk on my front bumper than I get on my rocker panels.

Ditto Palting's thoughts. Get 'em Eric, they make the car!

I agree. I have a 2002 c2 and the rockers look great compared to non-rockers.
