Default Those that listen to ESPN on XM & SIRIUS....

Is the ESPN sport talk shows (ie, Mike and MIke, Dan Patrick Show, etc.) that you listen to 100% commercial free as XM and SIRIUS claim???

I am routinely finding myself in the car listening these shows on my commutes on ESPNRADIO on my AM dial and spend OVER HALF of the drive listening to commercials ad nasueum (mostly lawyers and strippers b/c of the city I am in).

Help! I can't take the commercials anymore.

Sorry Dell. I don't listen to ESPN on XM so I can't say if it is commercial free. I listen mostly to the music channels and occasionally to the comedy channel when I am stuck in traffic.

One piece of advice though... don't get the Playboy channel. I went to lunch with my Russian co-worker and he subscribed to the Playboy channel. We were listening to some sex talk show and the bastard almost crashed his Bimmer! We switched to the easy listening station after that.

P.S. Have you signed up and listened to XM Radio on the web? I think you can sign up for a free 30-day trial. Not sure if they have ESPN on the web though but all the other channels are there.

i always wondered what was on that Playboy channel - it just seems like you're setting yourself up for a disappointment - Playboy is all about the visuals!!!

What are the commercials like then? I see both companies touting "Commercial Free" but I can't help but wonder what is filling the gaps that I hear my local commercials during.

Damn, at this point I am just thinking of just tuning into AM/FM. Free and I know what I get.

Hey Dell, I listened to ESPN Radio on XM on my drive home. Not a lot of commercials but there are commercials. The commercials lasted for about 5 minutes and had a commercial for diamonds for Valentine's Day and a couple of others. I listened for about 30 minutes and only heard one commercial break. Not too bad I guess.

Not bad at all. I just get so tired of the ambulance chasing lawyers that have their cheese ads as well as the stip clubs and "escort" services. It gets VERY old fast. Unless you live here you could not possible imagine the amount of ads for strippers and stip clubs that are on the radio and billboards.

YOu know that song Sheryl Crow sang "Leaving Las Vegas"??? I will be playing that when I am haulin *** from this pit in 4 months! Never to return.

Hey Dell, when exactly do you drive back to the East Coast? I am planning on going to LV in March and April (just 2 short trips with the guys).

Oh yeah, my Tivo just kicked in -- I guess it's Top Gear Thursdays on Discovery Channel. 3 shows (reruns) at 8PM, 9PM and 10PM. I know you're a fan.

Dell, maybe they said "Commercial FEE" and you were so fed up with commercials that your mind wanted to, and did, hear "Commercial Free."

Music channels on SIRIUS are all commercial free. Most talk radio, including ESPN, have commercials. I don't listen to it all the time, but ESPN seems to be the feed from the sportscenter (TV show) with some original prgramming (talk shows etc.) mixed in when SC is not on.
