Default Does anyone rework steering wheels to make thicker?

I'm getting pretty sick of the thin, slick factory 4-spoke wheel in my 996 and would like to know what the options are.

I don't really mind the 4 spoke design so ideally I would like to find someonw who refurbishes/reworks them to make it a little beefier. Does anyone do this?

I don't want to spend $1000 on a wheel and I don't care at all about carbon or crests or whatever, just want a thicker wheel with a better grip.

What are my options here?
Will I be able to keep my airbag? Does it need to be moved over?

Thanks for any help,
Keith
