Default My new wheels...

These were originally fully machined. At first I was going to powdercoat just the spokes and leave the lips polished. Last minute I decided to just do the whole wheel. The calipers (RED) will be installed soon they should POP against the black. The Color is a matte black with a Semi Gloss Clear coat.

Before anyone asks the wheels are one piece, Front wheels weigh 22.8Lbs 18X8 Rear 25.6Lbs 18X10. I will post some pics after I get the tires mounted.

To tell you the truth I have no idea... I am waiting for the center caps which were missing, Maybe they will shed some light. I picked the wheels up on ebay new from a private party, they were very cheap. Roock USA had sets of them in the past but I don't think they are the manufacturer.

Are you going to have your bolts coated?

No I will paint them. I have powdercoated lug bolts in the past ruined the wheel lock. So I paint them now. My lug socket has a nylon insert and rubber sheild.

Interesting. How do you keep the paint from flaking, chipping, marring, etc.??? I can't imagine even with the special socket they would stay perfect. Would they?

Not perfect but I don't take the wheels off often. I can get them to last for at least a half a dozen times.

Roock rims are normally manufactured by German company Ronal.

Sandoval - It looks like you are ready to verify the accuracy of the phrase "it corners like it's on rails." I'll bet that will also eliminate the understeer tendancies.

Seriously, while I personally am not a big fan of painted wheels, your set up looks good. I can't wait to see the pics of the lowered car with the wheels and tires on it!

Sandoval,

Do you also have an A4 and hangout on Audiworld? If not there is another guy with a yellow 996 and a checkered floor in his garage.

I only like the matte black wheels gloss is a bit much. My last 996 had matte black techart FGT's I loved them. Also brake dust is hidden they always look clean. On my 968 years ago I had the RS type wheels with lots of wheel hardware and polished lips they were a bitch to keep clean. Then cleaning them took almost half of the time when washing the car.

A4 Nope not me...

I had the rubber mounted this morning. IMHO they look sick! I can't wait to get the Red calipers mounted and see the car lowered with PSS9's... I will post some after photos after I get the brakes and suspension completed.
