GHL is really really great for the money....i have it and just installed it and enjoy it, but i dont drive the car in the winter...or rain....i think you need to consider your climate as well....Porsche designs a great product that will last a long time and maintain the quality level, i dont expect that from my GHL, hind sight...no question PSE, the quality of the product albeit a little heavier than aftermarket is far superior and the sound a little deeper, porsche has and does spend a fair amount of money to get it right and to stay right....now much difference in price between Fabspeed and PSE, GHL is consderably less....

good luck with your choice.

Just ordered some Fabs off their website - I figure I can try them out, and if I don't like 'em, I can always ebay 'em... PSE was going to run double the price, so what the hay.

put fabspeed muffler on today (about 2 hours).

Sound is great! Can hear the engine throughout the RPM range including above 5,000 RPM whine.

Track day in a couple of weeks.

That's encouraging... I'm looking forward to the love I'm sure to get from the neighbors!

do what I did..... ran with fabspeed muffler bypass for a while. After that your neighbors will think you put a hybrid motor in your car.

The only reason would be that they did not look around before buying.

If one does choose the PSE (I did), then it can be shipped from a dealer parts dept to your door for approximately $1400.

It can occasionally be bought on Ebay (from a Porsche dealer) in the neighborhood of $1200.

Sure is nice for me to be able to switch to quiet mode when appropriate .... but every P-car driver to his own tastes.

I am really thinking about putting the fabspeed bypass pipes on my 2003. I have the fabspeed sports exhaust and it does sound good but just not loud enough for my taste. Prior to this car I had a 1988 944 Turbo S with no catalytic converter and it sounded very loud and aggressive. The 996 with the sports exhaust certainly sounds ok but not nearly as loud, I miss it. I think the bypass pipes would bring me closer to the 951S sound that I miss.

Bypass pipes are rediculous on a daily driver,(unless you're 17) way too loud. I put them on when I go to the track, that's it. To find out, just pull your mufflers off and fire it up, that's exactly what bypass pipes sound like.

Default bought a fabspeed

I bought a fabspeed sight unseen on local ebay. Previous owner thought it was too loud so we will see how it goes when I fit it.

Anyone seen the German company on Ebay buying up old mufflers and welding a small by pass pipe to improve the sound and then reselling for about $300. Appears to be doing very well based on site activity.

Let us know how you like the Fabspeed.

I saw that company on Ebay. Has anyone tried their product??
