They look great on your cab! Such a difference.

FWIW, the decals should be 3" in length (1/4" height), not 3.5" like these ones. This is if your ****

I used a brush, bought a caliper paint set at PEP boys,,,I think it was 14,95....put some plastic shopping bags around the rotors and made sure the brakepads were covered too....used the caliper paint removel spray...and a steel brush with soft bristlles...it took me a long time to get all of the black paint off...but I was afraid it wouldn't look good enough without putting in the effort!
I painted the calipers about 3 or 4 times within a 1 hour period...you have to layer the paint for the best result.....and don't make the mistake of touching the drying paint with the brush trying to smoothen the paint..because it won't work..just wait a little and paint the area again...and again....it looks good also from very closup...

Bought the caliper decals on ebay...8 bucks plus shipping...and they hold up well...I have to say my car never gets wet...I dry wash always!! So i don't know how the paint and decals will holdup in those situations.

I will keep you guys posted about how everything holds up....have driven about 500 miles since the mod..and they still look great..no flaking and decals looking good!

Why did you remove the black caliper paint? I could be wrong but you should be able to clean the calipers thoroughly and paint over the existing paint. If anyone disagrees with this reasoning please let me know ASAP. I plan on painting my calipers next week, after my decals arrive.

I’m going to paint mine PURPLE! Just kidding! RED it is!

When you spray on the caliper cleaner...and brush with a copper brush the paint and orig. decals come right off....I just cleaned my rims (daily routine) and cleaned the calipers..and everything looks still as new....I would do as I did and clean them with the caliper cleaner and use a copper brush..taking off the paint....because if there is no paint under the new paint..it should stick better! and can't flake as much...

I wonder how heat will affect the longevity of the paint?

I am looking forward to trying it. I will wait a few more weeks to read about your results. Thanks for posting this test.

you know I tested the "hotness" of the calipers and even after driving 50 miles with speeds up to 125mhp you can still touch the calipers!! And I drive a tip, which means more braking with the brakes instead of with the engine (shifting down..you know what I mean)... I think that the rotors and the brakepads the hottest part of the setup are...so paint and decals should be holding up fine.
And if not...it will give me something to do in a couple of months or so...you save about 400 bucks doing it this way!! So you can do it about 20 times before you break even.

Default Yellow?

Anyone tried the yellow paint? I got a BLK on Blk and I was thinking yellow calipers might be sharp? Any thoughts?

I think yellow would look sharp as well. But red is classic...

I don't know about yellow...I think the yellow ceramic calipers are bigger with bigger rotors....I friend of mine has yellow and it doesn't look that good...maybe it also depend on your rims.....try it out and show us the result...you can always paint them red afterwards
