Post The Carrera Logo Contrast

Curious to know why many C2's have the "Carrera" logo located at the back of the car in black when the exterior color of the car is dark -- especially since the logo is so nice. I've got a black logo on an Arctic Silver body, but I've seen it many times when there is black lettering on Lapis Blue, Black and Forest Green exteriors. You can barely see the logo. How does Porsche coordinate this.

On a separate, but related note, instead of having the "Carrera" logo at the back, some C2's have "911" or nothing at all. What does this signify.

Thoughts?

Regards.

Ive never seen the carrera logo in any color other than black (silver on C4s and turbo)

You can delete the logo from the back if you wish. In which case you can choose whatever you want. It just signifies personal preference.

Actually Bins, I've seen a fair number (not as many as black but still a fair number) in silver...against a dark exterior color. But many logo's are also black against a dark exterior color.

Regards.

Silver does look much nicer on the darker colors though. Mine is midnight blue and the black logo does not do the car any justice.
Has anyone ever painted the logo, (using what). I suppose silver touch up paint might work.

Yep, I broke half my emblem off when drying the car once and replaced it with the titanium (silver) one:

I don't like the silver color on my Arctic Silver C4 Cab...thinking of painting it black.

This is exactly what I was saying. Thanks for corroborating this guys!!

How strange to put the logo in a dark (light) color when the exteriro color of the car is dark (light). Doesn't do any justice.

I think painting is a feasible option, probably using the same techniques as you would with respect to the "Painting 'Porsche' on Calipers" thread.

If anybody has thoughts on why Porsche color coordinates this way, please let us know.

Regards.

We're doing painted logos if interested, at BumperPlugs.com.

Done quite a few - some are body color for more subtle, others are contrast.

Email me for details.

I made an observation, the 2002 Carrera logos are placed lower on the decklid, where the reflector now is on the C4S.

As far as the color of the logo, I think the titanium colored ones are for Carrera 4.

"Mine's silver on Lapis Blue, stock"

That's cause the titanium is stock on C4, Box S, and Turbo. It's an easy $20 ish change if anyone wants to do it. I actually saw 911 in titanium on a black one and wanted to do it so bad, but thought "911" was not something I wanted to display so prominently after the attacks.

I believe the "911" logo in place of "Carrera" was for the Milenium edition cars. I'm not 100% sure, but that's always what I've been told.
