I have a 1st gen Fabspeed cat-back on my 01 996 and though I love the sound, it has HUGE round chrome tips...we're talking near coffee can tips! Not QUITE in keeping with the looks of the car.
Anyone replace the tips on one of these and if so which ones and THEN how much of a PITA was it?

Hi NASA racer. Its quite easy to replace the tips with the newest versions. Any muffler shop or exhaust shop can swazall of the tips and reweld on the new while you wait. New tips are $125/each and about $40 for the changeover. If you were local we would doit for free.

Or, if you are ever in Atlanta, look Robin up and he will personally TIG weld the new tips for you, no need to trouble "WE".

I mispelled "sawzall". A sawzall is an electric reciprocating saw that any muffler show uses to remove mufflers, cutoff parts. Anyone can then weld the tips on by MIG or TIG welding. MIG is much faster and used exclusively by Porsche make all their parts.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I believe the Milwaukee Sawzall is mostly used in construction. I have seen muffler stores use a plasma cutter for better and more accurate results.

Anyone or certified welders? I remember having read somewhere on your website that non certified welders should be avoided at all costs.
