I ordered just the standard CD player in my C2 coupe that's being built next month. I heard the Bose unit and wasn't impressed.

I do, however, want to upgrade the sound system with a new head unit, one amp (4 channel), and some speakers.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the std speakers in an 02 coupe?

i'm looking for the dimensions on those speakers also. i'm thinking about just replacing the speakers. the bass seems to crack once you crank them fockers up.

Factory HiFi system with door pods.
5" in the doors.
4" and tweeter in dash and rear.

Standard system does not use the door speakers and thus no pods.

I replaced my HiFi system with a 3 way component system from JL Audio. It consists of a 6.5" in the door pods mounted to a custom baffle with a 4" and tweeter in the dash. I also installed a 4" coaxial in the rear though it is hardly needed. I managed two 8" subs behind the rear seats. Sounds excellent! <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

I did EXACTLY the same thing a Sloth except I used two 10" subs in a custom fiberglass-MDF sealed enclosure behind the seats.

I have a similar setup except running MB Quart up front and rear and running 3 JL 8's behind the seats with the amps located in the "trunk."
