Default HELP Installing 996 decklid!?

Not my car but for a friends car. he cant figure out how to replace the spoiler and just called me?? I dont know either.. He said he couldnt even find the button to raise it to get to the bolts?? He just got it but it needs the rear lid replaced.. he's stuck right now..
any help is appreciated!

Down by your left foot. It is on the fuse box panel. It is a non-descript rocker swich that you can see without having to remove the cover.

To remove the rising portion you don't need to elevate it, it's all done from underneath. But, if you're not familiar with taking apart and re-assembling the elevator mechanism, you may want to rethink the diy as it's not that easy, I know I've done it a few times on mine.

You dont have to raise it to change the rear lid? or you mean it doesnt have to be raised to swap the spoiler part of it only? My buddy who is doing it is very mechanically inclined..

To change out the elevating spoiler, no you don't have to raise it. Are you guys trying to swap the entire decklid or just the spoiler?

OK what is the issue where is he getting stuck, the first thing to do is raise the spoiler, the second is to remove all the clips holding the folding rubber part that hide the internals of the mechanics..once thats off, you have acess to remove every thing, it is pretty tricky but take you time and it will make sense as you see it

spoiler is fine. the deck lid is being replaced. had a little damage to the rear.

oh and he just couldnt find the raise lower button for the spoiler as it wasnt marked.
