Post 9ff Aluminum Shifter?

I'm about to have my B&M shifter installed, and was looking into also installing the 9FF shifter. Has anyone had any experiences with an allumnimun shifter, especially how hot or cold it may get when the car is left parked outdoors?

Ferrari F355s have an aluminum shift ****, granted I've only driven the convertible, but in the summer after its been sitting in the sun, its like 2nd degree burns...they look sweet tho.

I don't have an aluminum shifter but I believe only ones that are CHROME get too hot.

I think the "aluminum" ones are ok.

Again not sure but if memory serves me.....

I have this version in my car and I really like it. I think it looks better as it doesn't squeeze the leather boot all the way down. Also, it doesn't get overly hot or cold.

Viken...I've thinking about that one too.

Do you have a short shifter with it?

If so I assume it feels good with it?

I just thought that with a short shifter added a stock "shape" might be better for leverage. I am a fan of the ball shape though and if it works with a short shifter then I'll still consider it.

This shift **** happens to be a bit shorter in height and it already feels better all by itself.

Looks good...thanks for the pic.

What color would you say it is?

From all pics I've seen it looks like more of a painted finish than a true aluminum.

I was going to order with the "aluminum look" horseshoe around the bottom of the shift boot but was concerned about the horseshoe not matching the ****. The horseshoe looks like it has more "metal flake" look to it?

I saw the combination at Gert's site.

In the winter, it is the total opposite to the extreme, it is sometimes to cold to touch.

I originally wanted to upgrade my steering wheel to the aluminum trim model, but not anymore. It looks great, but is not so useful. Just my $.02
