Default Signs of a worn shock?

Recently after a 4 hour driving trip the cars feels like it had a flat, very bumpy and stiff almost felt like it was riding on all the rims. Now it is back to normal again.

My 99 C4 have 53000 miles and stock non-M030 suspension.

What's kind of miles are you guys getting out of your stock 996 shocks? I know there was an improvement over the 993s, as a typical 993 stock shocks starts to deteriorate really bad at about 20,000 miles.

If the symptoms suggests a replacement, Sounds ike the factory euro M030 is the best bang for the buck? (98% street, 2% track)

I got a little more than 50,000 miles out of my first set of H&R shocks/struts, so it sounds like you are at that point now. I would suggest either the stock M030, or stock with H&R springs, or Bilstein PSS9 coilover. Whatever you get, you should get about another 50,000 miles out of them.

i just removed the suspension from my 02 with 18K miles and the front were completely shot. my suspension guy said that time is even a factor as much as mileage with the stock suspension, which in his opinion, is garbage

i just put the pss9's in my car. very cool.
