Post GT3 Article in GT Purely Porsche Magazine

I read the article in GT about the new GT3.
They say it is faster than the old generation, but not as raw?, whatever.

Anyways, I am curious to here from people who have taken delivery of their GT3 and hearing their comments on how the car feels, in power and in handling, versus the C2 and the Turbo.

Would love to hear from you.

What specifically do they say makes it less raw? I want it to be as raw as possible...

I'm still waiting to take delivery on mine but from what I've read about the earlier GT3s, the suspension was very harsh. The new car is supposed to be smoother, even though it is somewhat stiffer than the previous version. Maybe that's what they're complaining about. I can't think of anything else that would make the new car less "raw".

Yes, i thinm it was the suspension. I dont have the article here with me.
But I do know that the day of the road test it was a cold day in Italy so they couldn't really warm up the tires enough on it to really put the car thru its paces. But they did say it was very fast and they did say, to sell everything you have and go down to your Porsche dealership to buy one.

Im just curious on how it feels compared to a C2 or Turbo.

They could've used more sound insulation, power steering boost, etc. to make it less raw too (I hope not)...

Watt - Mine is May 26th (delayed from April). If the cupholder turns out to be the heaviest most useless accessory that the car has, then I'll be a happy camper...

i've designed a 4 oz humidor which value/weight ratio i can live with...
i've wondered where to save more weight, but it would come down to lightweight doors and hood and airbag/interior removal... where hassle-cost/value seems low to me anyway.
as i've previously mentioned lower gear sets 2-4 will help low speed acceleration.

I think the main difference between the new GT3 and the previous one is that fact that at the time of the introduction of the 1999 GT3, there was nothing else to compare it to.
There was no 996 Turbo at that time, neither a GT2.
Now we have both the Turbo and GT2 to make comparisons with.

In 99 the GT3 was a stand alone kick in the gut nasty car. The new GT3 is better in every way but it has to "compete" with the Turbo and GT2 for "attention", if you know what I mean.

Anyways the car will be fantastic.
