Extended Warranty
#2
Can only speak about warrantygold.com who i've used many times (somewhere between a half and a dozen times) over the last 5+ years. Have been very pleased with them, and so have been the subsequent owners to who the policies were transferred upon sale of my cars.

I have warrantygold on my X5 and have had no problems with them. They had to replace the motor in three of my windows in a one month period and didn't give me any hassle about it. Great company to deal with.

"how much are you paying for the extended warranty and how does it work out?"
I've only got in on one of my cars now (and old 96 Jeep Cherokee). Our other three cars are 2000,2001, & 2002 and are a long way from factory expiration. I think the one on my 98 993 cab was in the $1500 area but that was nearly 2 years ago. It was a bumper to bumper, no deductive policy with road side assistance. I've used them for two Volvos, one Lexus, one Jeep, one Porsche, one BMW, and one Explorer. Used them QUITE a bit on the Volvo and saved thousands. You take the car ANYWHERE YOU choose (including the dealer), and they pay the vendor directly (they give them credit card info over the phone). If you go to a place that doesn't take credit cards (who doesn't these days), you might have to pay and send in for reimbursement (takes less than a week from receipt of your claim to get payment). Also used them on that BMW for a policy that was like $1500 and they had to pay $1900 one month out of factory warranty for anti-lock brake pump :-) All the cars except the Jeep have since been sold and the buyers LOVED having bumper to bumper coverage on their used car purchase. Just really can't say enough good things about my experiences with them. I'll add coverage to our current 3 as they get closer to factory warranty expiration.
