DO IT! Eric Sklut at Bumperplugs.com is your man. He did my center console, bumperettes, door plugs, console plug and ofcourse bumper plugs...4th car his stuff has been installed on. He does a top quality job. It really dresses up the interior. I would do it again in a heart beat.

I have never understood the attraction to the painted rear center console. I guess it is because I am old enough to remember some of the cars from the 60's and 70's that had the painted metal dashboards and door panel frames. Those cars were the "entry level" versions and every time I see an interior part painted, my first thought is "cheap." Growing up, I rode in a bunch of the “entry level” cars. Logically, I know the painted console actually costs MORE than the standard finish, but it still invokes a “that’s cheap looking” reaction when I see one.
Please understand that I am not attempting to start a debate about painted consoles, nor am I criticizing anyone who happens to like the painted console. I am just stating MY view on this, much of which stems from memories of long ago. Just simply sharing my opinion.

^ Tim, it's interesting you mention this. It's kinda ironic that before, the painted consols were on cheaper cars whereas now, its an expensive factory option. Some might tie this back in to porsche's focus on profiteering.

I really like the look of a painted console.. Eric at bumperplugs.com is the guy when it comes to those. CF is also nice, just depends on the look you're going for

I think it loods sweet in the right color. My center console is painted the same color as the car. I have to admit, in silver it's a bit underwhelming. It doesn't have the same effect as yellow, red, or blue.

Vove, thanks! Everyone that comes over and takes the garage tour always comments on the Center console before anything else inside the car. Gt3 seats are a close second also painted SY. Eric Sklut @ Bumperplugs.com did the console.... Over the years he has painted 3 sets of bumperettes, 5 sets of bumper plugs, 3 sets of door/console plugs, and my SY console. Every single piece has been painted to perfection, not a single flaw. Others have said any body shop can do this for you. I would not waste my time. I think his prices are fair and the quality can not be touched. I had my GT3 seat backs painted by a reputable local shop they could not get it right I sent them back twice to be resprayed before getting the results I expect.
