Default Got rear-ended!

Waiting at a stop sign to pull out into traffic running in both directions, some yahoo rams into my 996! To top it off, the idiot has a baby in a car seat in the front pass. seat! Illegal as hell! What a complete jerk! Had his Subaru airbags blown off, it might have killed his kid!

I have a slight whiplash but amazingly enough, there is absolutely no damage to the car at all. I have stared at it, combing over it up close and personal and cannot even tell anything happened. I guess Porsche made some very good rear bumpers for our NA cars.

With how my neck feels every night, I wish I would've grabbed that dumb-*** by his throat instead of talking so politely to him (after I stopped swearing). The funny thing is, he looked like he was going to wet himself as I approached his car. I am a pretty big guy and work out for a living and I think he thought I really was going to grab him by his throat, hehe. Maybe I was that transparent...

Yeah, just what you want to see when you rearend someone - a big chisled dude coming out of his Porsche. Hahahahahaha.... Glad you're OK.

A few years ago, driving my treasured 535i, a teenager pulled out in front of me in an old Taurus, and I hit him square on. His sister was in the passenger seat, cussing at him, screaming about what an f*cking loser he was, dad was going to kill him, blah blah. I just left him to his own misery...

Steve, I would still have the car checked at a body shop. There are impact absorbing materials behind the bumper and a bumper bar, that may have bent even without visible damage to the bumper cover.

Totally agree with JB - your car needs to be thoroughly checked out - and make sure you send his insurance company the bill. Guy sounds like a moron.

Sorry your neck is stiff - Advil, heat and rest should work - but wouldn't hurt for you to get checked out as well.

I just don't understand what happened there. It's a stop sign with two-way traffic, so basically every approaching vehicle has to come to a stop, plus you're already parked at the intersection. What's wrong with this picture? If you weren't there to "halt" his progress, was he just going to plow right into traffic and get t-boned with his baby in the car? Idiots really shouldn't be driving.

Glad to hear the car's OK. Oh yeah, and you too.

Three months after we got the 996 we're sitting stopped on a freeway offramp (about 10th in line) waiting for the light at the bottom of the ramp to go green. A minister visiting from Ohio has his head in his lap checking the map and gets into us from behind ( he only had about 1/4 mile of unobstructed view leading up to us). Replaced the rear bumper cap and the car was good as new. The body shop ( which specializes in German repairs and is a Porsche warranty paint shop) said 911s in general are pretty strong in the rear.

Get some money for "pain and suffering" along with the costs to inspect your car..............

Totally sucks. Been there in a 10 to 15 mph rear ender. Saw it coming and came off the brake to lighten up the punch. The car has a solid bumper system (except for the costs).

Oh yea...The jack-off had no insurance. After 5 minutes waiting for the cops, he got in his car and left. (We found him later and he was charged with following too close and no insurance.) TheJudge made him pay my deductible with a certified check.

The second photo is at the shop after preparing the car for repair.

You've got to do more neck work to protect you against wip lash. Seriously though, I hope you have your neck checked out by a physician. Good luck.

I was sitting in stalled traffic on I85 about a year ago. A peterbuilt 18 wheeler rolled into me and caused no damage. Not even a noticeable mark on the bumper. I was astounded. I didn't see him coming and it felt pretty hard, but not a mark. The driver didn't see me over the front of his truck. Moral her for me is never sit in front of a long front end truck. I move over and get in front of small cars with short front ends
