Hi all,
By far the most annoying item in my 996 is the side air vents controls that are so flimsy. Adjusting the flow of air inside the car causes the plastic pieces to come out of their sockets and it takes a whole day to put the back in! The middle air vents are solid and never break.
Anyone found better replacements perhaps made out of stronger plastics?

Sounds like a warranty replacement. My 996 vents (3 years old) never act that way. Tight enough to hold in place no matter what adjustment.

Hi I have a MY98 and during last summer I was distressed to find that the air vent on the passenger side had popped apart. After many hours, beers and swearing I was able to get back in line (long nose pliers and small screw driver) Luckily not done it since although I do threaten passengers with death if they touch it !!
