Post C2 Cab Discount

I am ordering an '02 Cab.
Sticker about $93,000. How much can I expect the dealer to discount?

Thanks

I got $3300 off a C2 cab that I ordered in July for Oct. delivery. In the fall, people were reporting discounts of 3% to 6% on '02's. A lot may depend on a particular dealer's allocation. A dealer who gets only one or two cars a month may feel less pressure to discount. My dealer gets 6 cabs a month and I got him at the end of the month when he hadn't yet sold all of his allotment. Also, you've obviously ordered a lot of options which should help you with the discount.

Just an FYI if you are planning on leasing. (I might be missing a Zero in my money factor below)

You should be aware that the finance guy at the dealer makes his own profit for the store, seperate from the commission the sales person and sales manager make.

On a car like that, 1% over the dealers cost of money (.0025 rough cost of money factor) will bring in about $3k in finance profit.

Negotiate the car price, then a fair deal on the money factor is 25 basis points (.00275) above their cost of money.

My feeling is the dealers have a right to make money on the car (through Kelly Blue Book roughly 14% on 911's), but they should be fair with the financing.

Tom
