Help... can't fill up the gas tank this morning on 996
Hi,
I went to fill up gas this morning and nozzle goes all the way in, but fuel kept spilling back out. I tried different pumps and nozzle, same problem.
Looks like something blocked in the hose that goes down into the tank, it only fills up about 0.5 gallon, I kep trying it very slowly, still it will only take about 1 gallon total, the needle guage shows almost empty, the tank is almost empty for sure, I have driven about 180 miles since last fill up.
Any ideas? I got enough for few more miles. I hate taking into a dealer.
Is there anything I can check or do?

It is the same fuse as the cell phone hook up but first take off the panel (pops off) by the accelerator and tape the end of the cell phone wiring harness that must be grounding out. Then replace the fuse, it is labeled on the fuse box instruction guide in the box as above. Will

Had exact same problem. I think it is fuse E6.
'02 C4S in my case, if it matters.
like has already been said, be sure to tape off the phone connector that is likely dangling in your lower center dash console area (pull a storage binnacle to access). otherwise you may have same problem again.
in my case i suspect the prev owner had a phone but then just disconnected it when time to sell and left things dangling about, so something shorted out.
i was digging around in the console area, chasing rattles (i spend way too much time on rattles), and it was right after i finished mucking around under the dash area that i encountered my inability to refuel, so i knew i must have done a bad thing somehow.
if in a bind, steal a fuse from another non-critical function to get yourself refueled (assuming there's not a constant short going on).

Thanks everyone. I will take a look at it when I get home tonight.
It is a 2002 C2 Cab.
I was installing Sirius radio and messing around behind the console, I must have shorted it out somehow...
