Hello all:
I bought my 2002 996 coupe off the lot three weeks ago. The car came with a carbon fiber shift **** and e-brake handle.
I liked the carbon fiber so much that I ordered the carbon fiber door sills for the car. Today they were installed - and they look very very green. Almost a kkhaki color.
The shift **** and e-brake are dark grey with no hint of color at all.
Has anyone seen something like this? Are there variations in the carbon fiber trim parts?
Thanks for any information.

Hi: I have carbon fiber door sills and they are the dark gray/black look that you would expect. And they match steering wheel. If you are interested send me your email address and I can send you a pic from my file. Sorry, don't have a website.

This is a known problem. It has to do with where they were manufactured. Have the dealer reorder and return the ones you have and have them make sure they match!

I noticed the same thing when trying to purchase the carbon instrument display piece when compared to the shifter/brake pieces that originally came with the car. My dealer tried to convince me the color difference (green tint in the newer pieces) was just the light. Sounds like its more than just the light. I didn't make the purchase.
