Hi from down under,
Does anyone have a source for a trunk liner (aka "boot mat", "trunk mat") to provide a bit of protection to the flimsy carpet in my 996? Have drawn a blank from the usual places (e.g. Pelican).

DG: Try Drivewerks.com (a subsidiary of Pelican), that is where I got mine. Go to their Mat Wizard.
I suggest you consider the Rubbertite material. Nice fit!
And as Lee said try a Dasschild. Very nice product with peace of mind when carrying all that unsecured junk.

Gentlepeople, thank you for the suggestions. I think I'll take the Drivewerks path and get the Rubbertite trunk mat - it was useful to see that they make a mat to go over the folded-down rear seats too.
Cheers
