Post Wheel Offsets

Are there any problems running 996 Turbo wheels and tires on a 996 C2 cab? Does the handling , etc get compromised versus the standard 996 18inch rims ?

The rear wheels from the 996 Turbo will not fit the 996 Carrera.

Viken,

I just corresponded with a fellow on Ebay who is selling a set of the 2001 TT wheels/tires. He mentioned that they do fit standard 996's if they haven't been lowered. Can you positively refute this comment? I think those wheels are the best looking of the "twist" star wheels and would like to put them on a 99 cab.

Given a 20mm wheel offset difference (65 stock on 10" vs. 45 TT on 11") and 30mm wider tires, I am also skeptical that the fit is possible.

TIA,

John

I too have heard from several sources (including Wheel Enhancement who'd certainly know) that you cannot use turbo wheels on a narrow body 996.

Besides, why don't you just get some true hollow spoke turbo twists which are much lighter than the stock (non-hollow spoke) TT wheels? They are available in a size you can use on your car (8X18 and 10X18).

Thanks Ben. Cooler heads prevail. This is a great list.
