With long waiting lists on the gt3, I'm now leaning toward buying a 996 turbo. But, I'm somewhat curious about the 997. As I understand it, it will be primarily a cosmetic facelift, with a moderate performance boost (at least for the normally aspirated car). But, I can find no information on the 997 turbo. Will there be a 997 turbo? And if so, when would it be launched?

With the 996 Turbo still in production, I would think that the 997 Turbo is atleast 3-4 years away. Get the 996 Turbo and enjoy it!

 

But....Strong rumors are the 997 is going to debut in late 04, and usually a turbo is only a year or so behind the N.A. version.....Time will tell!

 

Porsche just announced C4S Cab, will announce Turbo Cab soon, so I don't think they will promptly change the turbo to 997 and kill sales on the new TT Cabs (TTC?)
