I have been reading all the banter about aftermarket and M030 suspension mods. The Panorama article referenced that there was a difference between C4 and C2.
Can anyone please help me identify what shocks I would need for my C4 cab if I went to the H&R sport springs?? I am not sure the ROW M030 is going to give me the stance I am looking for (although I have seen that everyone that has it loves its performance!)
Thanks
Phil

Yes, the front shocks and springs between the C2 and C4 are not intechangeable.
If you are looking to lower your car with H&R springs, you should consider either getting the factory M030 shocks or a good aftermarket damper. The standard issue is too soft and may cause bottoming out and an undesirable ride quality.

Carlos from Spain has a C4 with the factory M030. Since he is "from Spain", this is the ROW M030. He positively adores it.
I personaly would go that route before the H$R. There is also an even lower OEM set up that will lower the car 30 mm all around from the Euro specs. That means possibly up to 45 mm lower in front for the std US C4.

Having the C4 with ROW M030 and 18" wheels, all I can say is follow Viken's and Palting's advice, they are right on as usual.
Start with the ROW M030, you are going to love the handling improvement, and then if you still want, you can fit the H&R springs with the M030 shocks you would already have since you will need the stiffer shocks to match the H&R springs, or go directly to the really low X74 suspensions, but those are regarded as too low and stiff ride for street use.

Thanks for the advice.
45 mm low at the front seems excessive but I am not sure if the ROW M030 is low enough? (especially considering the risk of high tolerance (+/-10mm)
Carlos, do you have pics of your ROW M030?
Cheers

Let me guess Carlos....
You are pretty proud of your fine looking 911!!
<img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
I just ordered litronics and a techart spoiler so I will wait til next week (uhem...I mean month) to order my ROW M030 from Carnewal. I measured my current FW clearance at 50mm above the top of the tyre. Would it be likely to scrub the tyres when it gets real low (ie with 30-low ROW)?
Thanks for your help.

The ROWM030 lowers "technically" 20mm on the front and 10mm in the rear of the already 10mm all around Euro stock 996. The 30mm+ lowering suspensions are the X74. And you are not going to scrub the tires if you stick to standard 17-18" wheels and widths. Does that answer your question?

You can get the Porsche ROWM030 shocks/springs/swaybars kit, if you want still lower aterwards just change the springs (ROWM030) for H&R springs. Or you can go all the way with the really low with the Porsche X74 suspension kit (expensive), which I think is the one you are reffering to.
