Post 993 v 996

I'm a visitor from the 964 forum. A friend called today to ask if he should buy an early 996 convertible or a late 993 convertible. There seems to almost be a price overlap here in England.
Also he only wants to keep it 6 months then sell and keep loss to a minimum!?
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

If your friend is holding out just for 6 months I imagine the 993 cab would be the ticket. At least from looking at resale values the 993 tends to hold better which I do believe is one of thee best looking air-cool modern era Porsche made-the others being the 930 and the desirable '73 rs. If he has already driven 993 in the past he may try something new in the 996-awesome GT car with stupendous tracking ability. Both great cars!!! Hope that helps ya. Mike

If purely resale then 993, but the 996 cab is much improved (top down in 20 secs and no boot to put on) it also has the same drag coeffient as the 996 coupe.

Agree, if looking for resale people love the last air cooled 993's. The 996 is a little more refined and more comfortable than the 993. It you really need cup holders, go for the 996.
