Question Tip Control Unit and ECU Software Change

I have a 2002 C2 Tip and have heard there is a software change to the Tiptronic control unit, and another for the ECU (engine control unit). Does anyone know anything about this?

There is a TSB for torque converter lockup problems for cars produced before October 2002. The TSB number is: 6/02 3701 Tiptronic Transmission Noises.

It is a new control unit which includes software. If you are having problems then you should talk to your dealer.

Thanks Loren,

How do I know if my car was produced before October 2002?

On the edge of the drivers door is a sticker that has the month and year of manufacture.

Does this TSB apply to MY2001 (and earlier) cars?
I know the MY2002 had some significant changes.

Jerry,

No, the TSB is only for MY02 and newer cars. The Tiptronic in MY02 is quite different from earlier Carrera models. In MY02 they started using the TT Tiptronic (model A96/50) for the added HP output of the 3.6 liter engine.

Yup... the TT TSB is:
TSB 5/02 3701 (dated 2/14/2003)
Tiptronic control unit adaption of the torque converer lockup.

and it applies to TT cars As of MY01.

I'll send it to you via email...

Thanks Loren !! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

The tip transmission hesitation that I've complained about before seems less pronounced when I step on it a little more forcefully.
I've noticed that if when starting off in 2nd with a moderate jab, the 2 - 3 shift happens in that same 2700 rpm range, effectively giving a good reason for the brief hiccup.

Does Porsche publish the tip shift maps?
