Post Black powder @ rear of 996

After I take my Polar Silver 02 Cab for a ride I always find a very fine black powder around the rear fender of the car. You do not see it unless you pass your hand/cloth and it becomes black with the powdery stuff. Is all this coming from the exhaust? Is this normal? Thanks!

I'd bet you that its brake dust,......

OEM pads are well know for that phenomenon.

Not the exhaust.... brake dust and tire dust. Soft compound tires are likely most of this. Chances are if you are like the rest of us, your rears will be gone at 10-12K miles.

But they sure stick good

My mechanic says it is mainly tire dust. BTW: my rears last 4000 miles at the most...

I stand corrected: I have just 2000 miles on my rear tires and they are almost slicks... Bridgestone S-02s!
