10:00 we start filming. Hope you 996ers have good rear main seals so you do not leak oil on Henry's driveway. Jeff

Bob,
How much lower is "much lower"? Mine didn't seem noticeably lower. I didn't measure the new vs old shifter, but the distance from the bushing to the tip of the lever in Jeff's pictures does not look like 2". If you've raised your **** 2", doesn't that defeat the advantage of a short shifter? (At least you still get the better hardware!).

Hey Jeff, is the B&M any shorter? Could you measure a pair next time you are putting one in?

Patrick,
The B&M is the same height... I'm sure.

Jeff,
LOL... I think I've installed B&M's in all the other 996's in the aera!

If Chad's PSE arrives we will install that also. We will likely do a mod to Chad's air cleaner while we are at it.

Yes Patrick they are both the same height but on the B & M I raised the shifter handle 2 inches after pushing it down all the way. The throw is still much shorter than the stock shifter with the **** pushed down all the way. With my **** a little higher on the B & M it just felt better to me, less effort to push into gear but still a much shorter throw and very percise. I love how it clicks into gear.

If you 996ers want us to take pictures on Sunday of some special applications let us know. I will even bring my ruler.

The last picture was a joke. There is no B&M in that car. Danny, a local Boxster owner, cut down the flat blade of the oem shift lever and put on an after market shift ****. Poor man's short shift. Jeff

I have to agree that the feel of the shifter is much better than stock!

I'm excited, I'm going to get my shifter installed on Sunday.

Courtesy of Tool Pants, Loren, Aileen et al, with a special mention to "Henry".

I tried one at an autocross last weekend and just had to have it

Thanks to Jeff (Tool Pants) Henry, Aileen and Loren for installing my B&M shifter. I was "snick, snicking" all the way home. Snickering too!, it's a lot of fun.
