MY 2000 under the steering wheel storage tray....

MY 2000 under the steering wheel storage tray....
I bought a MY 2000 993 C2 without the owners manual and the other associated booklets that come with the vehicle; the Dealer Directory, the Warranty and Customer Information booklet, the Maintenance booklet, the CDR 220 Radio booklet and the cover or envelope that I assume would hold all this stuff. Remember too, that the MY99 and MY00 have no glove boxes but rather have a "tray" under the steering wheel. If you own a '99 or '00 you know what I'm talking about.
I went to my local dealer and bought all these booklets and manuals except the one for the radio.
But something's not right. I've got a couple of questions:
First off, The dealer wasn't able to obtain the CDR 220 Becker radio manual from Porsche. Where can I get one? Nothing on eBay. Anyone got one for sale?
The Black leather folder that the Porsche dealer's counterman said was the correct part, not only won't fit into the tray under the steering wheel with all the manuals in it;it won't fit into that tray at all! It's too thick with the booklets in it and without the booklets, it's still too wide to fit landscape, which is the orientation of the tray. If rotated 90 degrees and inserted in portrait orientation it sticks out.
Did I get the wrong "container" for the booklets? If not; and the manuals are to be carried in the leather "folder" I got, then what goes in the tray? Without a case of some sort the booklets would just slide and bang around, so that can't be the use,is it?
Is there some sort of envelope that I have yet to get that contains maybe the owners manual and the maintenance booklet that is dimentioned so the envelope doesn't slop around?
Much confused and awaiting your sage analysis and advice....
Any help would be much appreciated.

Mark, I purchased my 2000 996 Cab new. It came with the leather folder you describe. The leather folder will not fit in the tray under the steering wheel. As you note, it is too thick. I either stuff mine under the driver's seat or put it in the trunk. I have yet to find a use for the tray under the steering wheel. After a while you will forget it is there.

Ditto for a 2001 Coupe. I use the storage tray to hold papers and such that otherwise would be on the passenger's seat until I get home (ie receipts and the like). My leather thing is in the cavernous trunk in the tire jacket pocket.

Yup, same here. I load the leather pouch up with all the paper and stuff it in the drivers side door compartment. Turns out it just fits,(See contour of the floor of that storage pocket). There is just enough room to include the tire pressure gauge behind it.

The storage tray is for euro sized maps, not the owners manual with all the booklets. It is a map holder. If you put too much weight in the tray it will pull off. Loren will give you the TSB for this.
Do not have one on my 1997 Boxster as it started in 1998 on the Boxster, then it went to the US 996 in 1999. Now it is gone with the glove box.

Hmmm, mine has always fit. Plus I keep the service records, insurance stuff, and registration in there.
I took out the fat Warranty & Customer Information booklet and the Dealer Directory and put them in the spare tire cover pocket along with the front plate, each of which remains undisturbed since new.
My guess is that the RoW warranty document is thinner than here in the litigioUS of A, that cover is made to go there.

Remove the 2 black expanding rivets that hold it in place.
