Post Car won't start?

Hey guys,

I was supposed to pick up my car from Bill Rudtner's European Auto tomorrow, I was having a turbo nose put on and tinting done. Bill just called me and said the car won't start and he doesn't know whats wrong. I called Porsche roadside assistance and they said they'll have it picked up and brought to the nearest dealer (across the street - Freeport Porsche) within the hour.

I don't understand, the car is brand new, bought on July 5th, 2002. Anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? How long do you think this kind of problem would take to fix?

I appreciate any help,
Dan

I had the same happen to me when I got a BMW last year. Two weeks later it just wouldn't start. Turned out it was a flat battery. Hope that's all that's wrong with your car. I know what a heartbreaker this is. Keep us posted and good luck.

What a bummer! Hope it's something minor. It's so frustrating, especially with a 45-day old super sportscar!

Let us know what happened.

Hey all,

Good news! It was the fault of the K40 radar. The K40 was wired to the switch ignition instead of accessory. The fuse blew, only 7.5. Porsche just replaced the fuse. Bill is picking up the car tomorrow and finishing his work.

I should have the car on Wednesday morning.

Regards,
Dan

I wasn't charged. The dealership told me that it wasn't my fault and there would be no charge -- goodwill. Should it happen again, they would charge me.

South-Shore Porsche is very professional. They received the car at 4:00pm and called me at 4:30pm to let me know what the problem was and that the car is ready to be picked up.

I couldn't have asked for better service.

Regards,
Dan
