Default Nice pics!

I guess that makes 3 of us on this forum so far. That car looks very nice with the aero kit.

Not sure they are even comparable. But, having a 996 and a 987 you can probably speak from personal experience so I will defer to you as more of a trusted authority on the comparison. I mean that as a compliment by the way (just in case it comes across in cyberland as sarcasm or the '01 La Crema showing up in my typing )
First, thanks for not killing me .

You're absolutely right. They are not the same cars. Apples and oranges. Comparing them comes into play only when you're shopping for a Porsche and not quite sure which one and which driving experience you want. I just repsonded to the comment that it was a stepdown to the Cayman.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Nice pics!!!!

Its hardly a step down, a new cayman should be a quicker car then a '99.

I checked out a cayman today, they look really nice.

Is the Cayman a step down? It depends on your criteria. It's faster around the 'ring than a 997 Carrera, so if ultimate performance is your stick, than a Cayman is a step up even from a new-gen Carrera. However, in terms a stature/prestige/heritage, a 911 is a 911, and the Cayman is not .

I wont flame anyone, yet some good points I still cant see a caymen in my future..maybe my wifes but not mine.I agree its a quick little car..key word little there folks.I say the new caymen at the dealer and i will say it was a pretty good looking car better then i thought it was from the pictures. And if track times were so important ,the deciding factor then who would even look at the Porsche when the new ZO6 is faster and cheaper. And BTW if i were to own a blue car it would have to be Zenith Blue..Awsome
