Is the car under original warranty still? If so they who cares other than things that should be fixed sooner than later as annoyances. Is the car as certified one that has the Porsche extended warranty? or is it 3rd party? I know that Porsche now has a program where you can get an OE extended warranty if you buy a certified Porsche. Typically being certified would denote that it has been expected-

I've always viewed the crux of a PPI as being that it was done by an 3rd party .... presumably with no interest in the sale. The point being that you, the buyer, don't get stuck with repairs that would have been obvious to a trained eye.

If a Porsche dealer is selling a car with warranty, either original or extended due to the fact that this is a "certified" used car, then I see no need for such protection.

If, on the other hand, the car is being bought "as is" from a Porsche dealer, then I would not complete the deal without a PPI from another expert party. In such a sale, the dealer is no different from a guy in the classifieds.

Having a second set of eyes at another dealer go over the car isnt a bad idea. Its all about peace of mind... whats it worth to you?

If you had seen the certified check list, you'd know you should have it inspected.
