cobalt blue
Does anyone have any feedback on the color cobalt blue for their 996. I know this is a $3,800 option and I saw it this weekend at a local porsche dealer at thought it looked good. If anyone has this color can you please give me feedback on your thoughts of it and pics. How well does it hide swirl marks and such? I was considering ordering black but seeing how the smallest scratch is so easily seen I have been turned off. I really liked the cobalt blue but it is such a high dollar option is it worth it.

Cobalt Blue is only $3070.00
It is hands down my favorite Porsche color. I would order Cobalt Blue with full black leather, blue belts, blue stitching, PSM, Bose, Xenon lights, supple leather, crests in headrests, 18" Carrera wheels, flared rocker panels. WOW. Good Luck.

There was a picture of a cobalt blue 911 on this board last week, with beautiful custom seats. Its an awesome color. You can see some examples here:

I have a Cobalt Blue 996 aero. I have had other colors in the past, this one seems to get more compliments than any other color. I also have the brake calipers in red. I saw the car and fell in love with it.
It doesn't show swirls like the darker colors and seems to be easier to keep clean.
Let me know if you would a picyure.

I was two letters away from ordering it but I saw an older Cobalt Blue car and thought it had too much of a purple hue to it. Wife thought so to. Went with Meridian instead. Mercedes Orion blue might be worth and extra $4k (color to match) someday when I win the lottery.

As you all may know, Cobalt blue was used in 1991 and up on the 964 series cars. Here's a Cobalt Blue 964 Turbo:
This picture is poor, but this particular car was stunning in person. It does have hints of purple in it.
I almost bought a Cobalt blue 1991 911 two years back. The gentleman that owned it showed the car in concours and was having no trouble keeping the car looking great after 50,000 miles and 9 years of aging.
Hope this helps a bit...

Thanks for all your replies. It is a beutiful and different color. I'm a little concerned about the purple look that some people mentioned. I have not noticed this on the 996 has anybody else.
Thanks again, I will keep all posted as to my decision.

I have a cobalt blue 2002 c2 coupe with all black interior. It is a great color.
One thing I noticed is that it takes on a slight purple tint when it gets dirty. The dirtier the car, the more pronounced the purple color. The difference in the amount of purple between a clean car and very dirty car is very noticable. When the car is clean, it does not have much purple tint at all (in my opinion).
