central locking problem 996
Suddenly (this is always the case) my key doesn't want to lock my car any longer
Batterie is strong (and I still replaced it)...the led on the key keeps flikkering (when I press the button) but nothing happens!
Anybody any answers before I drop $400 for a new key.....

...if you let your car sit for 5 days without unlocking it you must manually unlock the door...if that doesn't work try cleaning the sensor areas on the dash and interior roof light, make sure to try both keys to rule out a malfunction in the key. if it still doesn't work try disconnecting your battery (ground first) and reconnect after 10 minutes. you'll need your code for your radio after you do this. if all that doesn't work you might have to bring her in.

thanks for the info...I am driving it almost everyday....it is a wast to let it sit in the garage.
I only have one key...so I can't check ..I will clean the sensors and as a last resort disconnect the battery..kind of a hard reset I guess?
and yes if that doesn't work....opening the wallet at the dealer...

Sometimes the key fob simply goes bad. I would try and new battery and clean out any dirt and debris. If that doesn't work you likely need to replace it.
Oh, one other thought... how old is the car battery? Sometimes an older weaker car battery can cause these unpredictable results.
