I don't think you can, and in my case it doesn't really matter. I have an 02 C4 Cab and I replaced it with this:

I did not think it was possible either, to tell the difference between the models becuase there is no visible difference anywhere on the outside!

My car was ordered from the factory without the model designation option and I just had it replaced by the dealer because I grew tired of people asking me- "C2 or C4?"

I found that there is no silver insignia for the C2 except for the Millenium Edition which is Chrome, otherwise they are black. However there is a price difference for the same part... the "4". If you purchase part number 996-559-241-024PU the part cost $18.06, but, if you order 996-559-241-01-4PU the identical insignia part (believe it or not) the price is $8.92... what gives with that? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

C4s have silver brakes, C2s black.
