Smith!!! Sliders. When it rains I can change lenses and completely cut the glare out...much safer, then when the sun comes out i pop in the polarized ones, then when it gets close to dusk, i pop in the yellow ones and i can see much better than with the naked eye until dark. 3 or more pair of sunglasses in one.

dpblessing////i wouldn't buy a porsche tennis racquet or mountain bike either...)))

Chalk up another for MJ's - still have my orig pair from years ago, but now I always use my (oh hell, what are they called...) you know, the ones with the bendy titanium frames and frame-less polycarbonate lenses. Anyway, might as well have been Gilligan's Island reruns on the nav screen in my M5, but I could easily glance under the lenses to see things. No problem in the C2.
In terms of glare reduction and clarity, nothing I've used comes close.

Try Orvis for a really light weight, polarized glass(plastic)lens that has a choice of either green or amber lens. The frames are tortoiseshell. They even make a glass lens model in the same frame with cheaters (2.00)cut in.
You can wear them for hours with no fatigue.

Another vote for the Maui Jims. I have a set of the titanium sport frame sunglasses.

Whatever you choose, get polycarbonate lenses for saftey. If you crash, they are less likely to break. I've seen them shot with a .22 pistol and not break.

Thanks for all the help. I ended up getting the Maui Jim's Polycarboante frameless (like Andreas posted above) with the Maui Rose lenses.. Great pair of sunglasses - I will have these for a long time

Sorry to dig out this older thread, but you made me hunt for a pair of Maui Jim glasses over here in Germany. I could not find them, at least not in Frankfurt. There is a German webshop, but it doesn't work on a Mac...

I just wanted to ask: How do they compare to, let's say, Oakleys, Killer Loop, Spy or Ray Ban in regards of being renown by the people / being "trendy"? Are they like a "secret tip" or did I just miss them over here? From their web site I like the Ka'anapali, bu I don't want to order it from the net without having tried them on.

You can't go wrong with the MJs, if you can accept the price. Them and the Revos are a cut (or is it a polish?) above everything else. IMO
