CDR-220 "Load Error"
Good morning Y'all
My wife and I just spent the weekend driving down to San Antonio, cruising around the Hill Country, eating-drinking- driving (not necessarily in that order).
Anyway.. on the return trip I tried changing a CD and when loading the new disk I go the "Load Error" message. We tried several disks, turned unit on/off etc..., but nothing worked.
I did a search, but did not find any common issues.
I'm thinking of just replacing the entire sound system rather than repair the head unit (unless its something very simple). Do any of you North Texas folks have any suggestions on a good installer in the D/FW area?
Thanks much.

Basically, it is a fiber optic based network for connecting multimedia components. It is supported by the big European automakers but has limited aftermarket support -- if you search the forum for "connecting iPod" you will see a lot of posts from people with issues connecting their iPods to the MOST bus.
You have a '99 so you don't have this problem. Back in the spring I upgraded my system (basically replaced the entire system) with Focal speakers, and Audison 5 channel amp, and an Alpine head unit with XM and iPod connectors. The system sounds really good and cost around $1,600 (self-installed).
