Question Mixing viscosities

I'm down a quart and can't find Mobil1 0/ 40 locally. I found 0/ 30. Can I mix in a quart of 0/30 with the 0/40 thats already in there until I get around to a complete change?

Should not cause any problem, although I might be inclined towards 10/40 or 15/50 if available. You can even mix in non-synthetic if you have to, it won't curdle. That 0/40 was a starting point anyway, after extensive use it is some other value.

At least on the 3.4L Porsche specified pretty much every value (synthetic) from 5/30 to 15/50 depending upon the ambient temperature.
