My '03 cab is nearing the end of the break-in process. I have followed all of the manufaturer guidelines thus far. Today I noticed my exhaust was rattling from the driver's side after the car had been driven for a while. I only noticed it when I got out of the car and it was idling. Has anyone else experienced this and is it normal?

Could be loose bolts for the muffler or tailpipe, or could be a broken internal weld of the muffler (there have been a few of these). Either way your dealer should be able to fix it -- that's what the warranty is for <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I have noticed the same - not while idling in neutral, but in 1st gear just above idling. Never in 2nd or higher. There are no other vibrations when it happens; just something in the exhaust note. Hard to detect unless I'm moving slowing next to a wall where the sound is deflected back up to ear level. Otherwise I don't notice it.

here same ..... mechanic fixed for free .. it was a loose bolt i guess at the end i think the Tips bolts

Dunno if its it's the same, but the weld on the last segment of the exhaust pipe came off on my car. This is the segment where the tips attach to. This segment has a backet welded to it, and the bracket is then clamped to the adjoining pipe coming from the other side. The welding of the bracket broke off. No accident or hitting, it just did it all it's own. First sign was the rattle. When I located the source, I was able to rotate the tip. It doesn't actually fall off since it is still attached to the connecting segment of the exhaust system, but it will rotate and rattle. Just take a firm hold of the exhaust tip, and see if it moves. It should not move at all if everything is OK.

I have to say that after 14 months of use, this is the only thing to ever go wrong with this car.
