Mike,
I assume when you refer to Pagid Black, that you are talking about their 4-2-1 Black Type "S" Sport Pad (they also make RS-7 and RS-14 Black racing pads) which is suitable for street and occasional track use. I bought my Pagid 4-2-1 Black Sport Pads from The Racers Group. They were around $325 for the complete set. I've been very happy with these pads so far on the street and for autocrossing. At my first event using them this weekend, they were much superior to the stock pads with regard to overheating, fade, and overall performance. (No more smelly brakes
)They sometimes squeal under light braking on the street, but only occasionally, and not at all to the point where I find it objectionable. I recommend them.

Are you looking for Black Racing Pads or Black Sport Pads?
Paragon Products has the Black Racing Pads for about $200/axle and the Sport Pads for $150/axle.

They do indeed have a blue coating but the Pagid site I visited still referred to them as the 4-2-1 Black or "Type S" Sport Pad. Go figure! Regards,

Mike, I think that's because it get a bit confusing to the customer. I always have to ask if they want the Blue "S" Pad or the RS42 Blue Pad. Why they made both blue I'll never know. Most of the other colors are already being used I guess...LOL.

I got the RS-14 Black racing pads from Jason for my 944TS and they are great - I like them quite a bit more than the oranges - better bite on track and quieter on the street.

The Pagid S Pads (AKA Black 4-2-1) are a high performance street pad that is also good for light track use. As mentioned the squeal factor should be relatively low. This pad will be in between the factory pad and the race Pagid compounds in terms of performance.
The ceramic based RS14 race pad will be more agressive in stopping power; will have higher heat capability; and will be more rotor agressive. These pads will squeal...sometimes not to much...sometimes a lot. If squeal bothers you I'd suggest swapping these pads in for track use only.
Did that answer your question?
