6-Point Harness Question
I have a quick question. Will the 6 Point Harness Belts work with just the Safety Roll Bar and the Sport Seats from Porsche or do you also need to get the GT3 Seats? I would go for the GT3 Seats, however, when I sat in them for about 30 minutes, I felt very uncomfortable but would like to go with the 6 Point Harness style. Thanks.

You'll need to get different seats.
Porsche sports seats don't have a hole in the bottom of the seat to accomodate the anti-sub belts to my knowledge.
Also it is not recommended to use 6-point harnesses with the stock seats because the lack of a hole in the the headrest doesn't allow the shoulder belts to be positioned properly and could actually be hazardous.

Well, you CAN use the sport seats with a 6 point harness. The sub belts can either be bolted to the front mounting bolts of the seats, or to the same mounting bolts as the side belts. If you mount it to the seat front mounting bolts, the disadvantage is that on impact, the belts will compress the seat cushion therefore allowing you to submarine anyway. If you mount it to the same points as the side belts, you will have to sit on the submarine belts then have them come up between your legs. This is how I have my Schroth belts set up. Regarding the holes in the seat backs for the shoulder straps, Schroth strongly advises that these be present, and strongly advises aaginst using seats with the built in headrests such as the Porsche sport seats. The idea is that on impact, these belts can slide off your shoulders unless you have the appropriate seats.
To make a long story short, 6 point harnesses should be worn with GT3 seats for the harnesses to function properly. A roll bar is also recommended since these harnesses will hold you upright in a rollover, unlike the 3 points where you can theoretically lean over.
Having said all that, I have the regular power seats, a harness bar, and a 6 point harness .

Can you please show me pictures of your seating setup Palting? I would appreciate it, with all the parts that you went with exactly and where you ordered them from. Thanks.

Here are the part numbers, all Brey-Krause then Schroth.
R1029 - Harness bar for cab. I have the Bose rear sub, so I can't use R1030.
R9001 - Tunnel side belt mount
R9003 - Outside side belt mounts.
41110-6-S Schroth Profile III 6 point harness.
I take all that stuff off after each event. The car is still my daily fair weather driver, and I take my kids for joy rides in the back. But, just for you, '03, I replaced some of the harnesses to show you what I mean .
Here is one side/lap belt and the submarine belts with the buckle:

The BK tunnel side mount comes with an opening that is a bit too small for both the lap and sub belt to fit well. They seem to come off unexpectedly easy. BK makes one for the Corvette that has two openings, but for some reason, the one for the 996 comes with only one opening. One of the posters here, Kerry, had the opening enlarged to bette accomodate them both. I did something simpler. I got one of those links that are several thousand pounds test and it works fine.

Naah, Oak. I just behave appropriately at the track, and take one small push at the envelope at a time. I've seen these cars after some major accidents, and the cockpit stays amazingly intact. I use the harnesses more to keep me in the seat rather than a protective device. Sometime, the true need for safety measures will come. GT3 seats are being now budgeted for, and a full roll cage when the time comes.
