I want to install an Alpine XM system with FM modulator to the current CDR-210 radio but cannot figure out how to pull the CDR-210 out of the dash so the Apline unit can be wired inside the dash. Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, Don't want to rain on the Parade, but make sure you check XM out in the areas you'll be driving. Here in Ct/NY state etc area where hills & 6 (appx) plus story building abound, reception is very sporadic. However it could just be the system on my '03 Escalade. At $30-40 a month was a waste!
Hope U have better luck, the concept is great.

Bill,
I had the Alpine XM system (FM modulator version) installed in my wife's Saab 9-3 convertible and it works really well. The subscription is $10 per month and the overall reception for this part of VA is quite good.
I'm planning to install the exact same system in my 996 if I can figure out how to get in under the CDR-210. I actually obtained the becker tool and was able to easily remove the head unit, but I'll have to somehow remove the center console piece (which holds the 4 CD holder) and try to get in under the CDR-210 so I have a place to physically install the Alpine unit.
Any ideas on how to do this are welcome.
Thanks.
