Listen to this...
My dad who lives in Kansas drives one of those extremely boring Acura 4 door thingies. Anyway, he was pumping gas and went inside to pay for his fuel. When he came out, the whole passenger side doors were marred with spray paint. His car is some dark shade of green. The paint is some shade of gray. Can you believe this crap?!!! It used to be that getting keyed was the worst...now spraying.
And like I said, his car is so not attention getting in anyway. And this in Kansas (not quite the hotspot of anything). What the heck is the world coming to?

Holy crap, spray paint or keying would screw-up my week for sure. I guess we in small cities are lucky it's not bullet holes. The only thing I'am kind of tired-of at gas stations in Dayton is the constant compliment I get for my C4S
.
Acuras are certainly not attention grabbers, but, sure beats the hondas and toyota's GM's and chryslers (Yeah! i owned a couple of acuras, so that hit me too close to home
).
Just curious whether your dad provoked them in any ways (some have short fuses, just revving the engines have the two neurons that's left in them flickering) I am asking this b'cause my wife is convinced each time I rev.up my engine that they are going to follow me and slash my tires. It'll be crazy to think that anyone can do it for no reason. Hope you can buff it out, as has been suggested. Good luck!

I don't think there was any provocation. My dad is almost 58 years old and is absolutely not into cars or driving fast or anything. He just wants a luxurious ride that totally separates him from the road. He tried buffing the paint out but by that time it had already dried and its not coming out. Maybe a detail shop can buff it out. If so, not a biggie but still a major freaking annoyance to say the least!
I'm so paranoid about leaving the P-car out of my view for any length of time and when I hear of something like this, I think to myself that there is no way in hell I'm ever going to upgrade the 996 to a GT3 or a turbo because I would NEVER be able to leave it anywhere. It so makes me wonder how people with the F-cars, the GT2s, the 911 turbos, the Lambos do it...

Chicago,
That sucks but it is better than keying. I ran over a paint can once in a car that I had just resotored. I freaked out but went home and got out the paint cleaners and wax. An hour later it was good as new... Unless the paint has been there for a while it's pretty easy to get off.
Good luck
Roy

try wetsanding it off. this can be done easily on two stage paint jobs. Wetsand and buff with a rotary, should be ok...
