replacement battery question

Is it a necessity to replace the original maintanence required battery with a new one from the dealer or can I replace it with a generic without any problems?

Wrong post for first one (intro and pics!). But to answer your question, yes and battery of 47, 48, and 49 will do. I put in a 47 (smaller and weighs less) and works just fine. $48 at costco!

If you like spending more money, then get an Interstate MTP91. Might be a little better quality then the Costco brand or Autozone battery. Also, make sure you get a vent adapter for the battery if it does'nt come with one. The battery is already vented, but you need the adapter to hook it up properly to your exsisting venting.
