Post C2 size 265 or Wider?

Hi Guys,

I was wondering anyone tried wider rear tires on 2000 C2 on 18" Turbo look rims? I need to get set of tires...currently 265/30/18? Maybe 285??? any advice...!
Thanks in advance

Most doing track events with extra rims run.

245x35-18 Front and 285x30-18 Rear

This does require 8.0-8.5 fronts and min 10.0 rear rims.

For the street, I would not bother. The rear wear out fast enough as it is...you want to pay more for tires that wear out fast and never really get the benifits of the wider tire?

If your going for looks, drop the car an 1-1.5 inches. You'll love the look and the car will feel a lot better.

Just adding wider rears will add to understeer. This, to me, is bad because the 996 has understeer to begin with.

Last week, I recently put the 285/30's on my stock turbo twists(2001 996) with no problem whatsoever. My main reason was because the rim lip protruded from the tire too much, making the actual rim an easy target for potholes. If I'm not mistaking, I believe the 2002's come with 285's in the rear stock. Someone can verify this. I am not worried about understeer because I plan on changing my suspension and using diffeerent rims and tires at the track anyway.

Well it is a good idea to drop the car, but since I have the Aero kit...I am not really sure it is a good idea or not on my side. I don't want to hit the front end all the time. I am going to check on 285/30/18 and make some side by side comparison between them.
