Default My Radio stays on when I turn off my 00 Cab

The radio used to stay on when I turned the key off, and would finally turn off when I actually pulled the key out of the ignition. I assumed this was normal.

Now the radio stays on even when I pull the key out and get out of the car. I now have to turn the radio off each time.

Anybody heard of this?

If you touch any of the ***** it will stay on. I frequently listen to the radio after I have turned the car off.

Maybe you could clarify that a little. My radio always used to shut off. Now it doesn't no matter what. Unless I manually turn it off. If I don't touch any *****, it still stays on.

I searched, but can't find proper search options. "radio" gives me thousands of hits. Radio stays on nothing. etc, etc. I'll keep trying.

My 02 C4S does the same thing, I dont think it's a problem, it's a more of a nuisance. Have you waited to see how long it will stay on? I believe it will go off in 15-20 min but I can't be sure. I just get used to turn it off manually

I had the same issue last night, radio stayed on... used to always shut off after removing key, and/or opening door. Maybe something to do with ignition, but it seems like a longshot?

I also have a 2000 cab, I had this same problem. My problem was the ignition switch was going bad. I first noticed when the radio didn't shut off, then the key got harder to remove. This seems to be a common problem with the older ignition switch. If you do a search on renntech you will see people have had all sorts of strange electrical problems as a result of this switch. Hope this helps.

This happened to me when my ignition switch went bad. There was a warning light saying ignition key not removed. Is that happening to you?

mine stays on after key pulled for about 10 sec once the door is open. if door is still closed, i think the radio keep going without key in. my is a 02 cab.

try removing the face plate on the stereo and perhaps resetting the radio somehow.

resetting the radio can be done by pulling the fuse d8 but that shouldnt change anything (shouldnt doesnt mean always wont)
