I'm looking to buy my first porsche (a 99' or 2000 996 C2) and I'm curious what a person should expect to pay for a qualified PPI. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best to call the Porsche dealerships in your area for prices and don't forget to look for independent shops in your area that specialize in Porsches. Sometimes the independent shops are as good or better than the dealership and are usually cheaper (heavily depends on where you live).

Mine was around $100 in San Antonio earlier this year.

You'll also want to ask what they do during the PPI. Do they check for signs of prior body damage, paint repair, etc... Do they check compression, seals, brakes, etc... Or do they just look at the car and take it around the block once.

if i got time, i will scan a blank 2-page report they are using for PPI.

 

The range is $100-250. This is usually to due the different shop rates. 2 hours is the usual amount of time needed to perform and adequate check.

I paid $150 for visual/electrical inspection, no compression. I contacted the local PCA chapter who highly recommended the shop.
