Default 1999 Coolant Tank - Part# check

I'm replacing the coolant tank on my 1999 996 and need to know what part#'s will fit my car. Or what is the most up to date part# from Porsche to cure the faulty tank problem.

Also, will part# 996 106 157 03, which I'm pretty sure is for a 2003, fit my car?

Thanks for the help.

Just replaced the tank on my 99. Part numbers:

996.106.147.56 Tank
996.106.447.01 Cap
996.641.503.00 water level switch

This is a PITA job!

The part numbers StevenB lists are exactly the ones that I recently replaced my tank, cap and level sensor with. Its best to replace everything esp the level sensor switch. Don't forget the Porsche Coolant 000 043 300 88.

Had mine done at an independent for 598.88. I concur...its a PITA DIY but it can be done.

If you have any coolant dripping on the driver's side exhaust pipe, use 000 steel wool to rub off residue.

Yeah, mine cost $600 to replace and the dealer said, "you don't want to attempt this." I know he's got skin in the game, but I've worked with these guys for 17 years. Funny how an $800 RMS gets all the press and this $600 problem gets only sporadic comments. FWIW, this issue torqued me more than the RMS. Good luck with the fix.
