Default Newby Member - Hostage Pics Released!

Finally, my new ride is in appropriate condition to appear on this fine forum.

The hostages have been released unharmed. Thanks to my local Rennlisters here in Texas I was able to find a great detailer to make everything shine.

I'm looking forward to many years of driveaporsheaholism. Yep, I know, clear side markers, bumper plugs......

Congrats! Looks VERY clean. Nothing shines like black. Except maybe Lapis Blue Metallic.

Jim - I have examined the pics thoroughly and I concur... they are completely unharmed! Nice ride! Your car looks GREAT, and the pics were worth the wait.

Now about the DIY detailing info I promised… Here are a couple of links to get you started. The first one is by “yours truly” and the second is by OCBen on the 997 forum. There is a lot of good info in both of the threads and inside the threads are links to autogeek and autotopia, two good car care web sites, both loaded with products and “how too” info. Once you see just how relatively easy and enjoyable it is to detail a p-car, you'll wonder why you had someone else do it for you initially!

Very nice! Black is a pain to keep clean, but looks sooooo good. Mine is similar, but with clear side markers.

Enjoy!

Thanks All - I appreciate the feedback.

Yes, black is fantastic once its cleaned and polished. Previous owner did not spend a great deal of time on the finish. I'm glad that I had a pro do this job. I was able to watch the performance in my driveway and pick up a few pointers. Also, the "clay bar" thing is new to me. Not so bad once you see it done once and the results are incredible.

The car was washed twice, clay bar, wash again, Zaino cleaner/polish and Zaino final finish. The paint looks new again.

I know, I know.. clear side markers, bumper plugs, super charger, aerokit, 19" wheels......OMG someone please stop me!!!

Yep, Zaino mobile - very professional. 3 guys, 2 hours.

They seem to have a first rate process and good quality work.

The owner is very meticulous or shall I say, obsessive.
